The aim was to boost the pupils’ self-confidence and contribute positively to their performance. To mobilize funds for this project, we coordinated a one–week charity bike ride in December 2021, from Mombasa to Siaya (A distance of 933km) in support of providing school uniforms to needy pupils in primary schools in Siaya County. Additionally, we received corporate social responsibility support from a fashion stylist, AT FU collection (fashion designer for women, men, and children), and contributions from other philanthropists.
We documented touching stories from the pupils; indeed, a lot needs to be done to support them. A decent school uniform is a starting point for self confidence and good academic performance.

We completed the dignity restoration project in July 2022, by donating uniforms to Bar Kagwanda Primary school, Kirindo primary, and Ulafu Mixed primary in Siaya County. That made 100 donations and 100 smiles from the uniforms we delivered.

READERSHIP/LIBRARY ACCESS

Learners in our Library during the School holidays

Stawisha Africa Initiative has a community library that is open for reading and educational games for children.
